L'Private meeting of Confindustria delegates It unanimously approved the reform of the Statute, setting in motion a series of changes affecting the governance of the System, the composition of its bodies and the process for renewing the Presidency. This reform is aimed at making the organisation’s representational capacity more effective and its operational mechanisms more streamlined.

The review process began with the consultations for the 2024 election of the confederal presidency, which highlighted the need to update certain tools and procedures. This led to the work of the Reform Commission established by the President Emanuele Orsini and by his team.

One of the most significant developments is the expansion of the team of Elected Vice-Presidents, which runs from the current ten to a maximum of sixteen members. A decision aimed at strengthening the oversight of strategic responsibilities and broadening the capacity to represent the various perspectives and priorities within the System.

They thus join the Presidential team Leopoldo Destro with responsibility for Transport, Logistics and the Tourism Industry, Riccardo Di Stefano for Education and Open Innovation, Giorgio Marsiaj Aurelio Regina for Aerospace, Aurelio Regina for Energy, Antonio Gozzi on European Strategic Autonomy, the Mattei Plan and Competitiveness Policies in relations with the European institutions and Francesco Somma for Corporate Culture and Legal Certainty.

Another key aspect of the reform concerns the Elective process for the renewal of the Presidency, which has been revised with the aim of making the various organisational stages more orderly, clear and transparent. An eight-week period has been set aside for the electoral process, during which it will be possible to present policy proposals to the governing bodies of the member associations and to carry out external communication activities.

The changes also affect the General Council, the composition of which is being expanded to place greater emphasis on the territorial dimension of the System. This is reflected in the granting of voting rights to the Presidents of the regional Confindustria branches, the regional-level associations and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, together with an increase in the maximum number of representatives elected by full members from 100 to 120.

The reform package also includes strengthening Confindustria’s mission and vision, and enhancing the trademark protection and the updating of the rules governing eligibility for national office and the handling of internal disputes.

During the same private meeting, the following was also approved: the Association’s financial statements, whilst the Annual Report was presented, setting out the activities, results and main areas of focus over the past year.
