La Giuseppina Mai Foundation, with the support of its partners (Assolombarda-Associazione STEAMiamoci, Chiesi Farmaceutici, Confindustria, Farmindustria, Fastweb + Vodafone, Federchimica, Fondazione Bracco, Space Work, Streparava), is launching the fourth edition of the call for proposals “Women in STEM”. The initiative is aimed at female students enrolled in the first year of a master’s degree programme in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The project was set up to bridge the gender gap in sectors that are strategic for the country’s development and innovation, where, despite the high overall rate of female university enrolment, the number of women remains limited despite strong demand for specialist skills.

What the notice provides

For this edition, the call for applications offers 13 scholarships, each worth 3,000 euros (gross), intended for the most deserving female students.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online only by 30 September 2026 by filling in the form available at this link.

I required documents The following must be attached to the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Certificate of completion of the three-year degree (including a list of exams and weighted average);
  • ISEE certificate updated to 2026;
  • Cover letter;
  • A brief description of any work placements undertaken (if applicable).

Eligibility criteria

Female students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply: the following requirements:

  1. Be duly enrolled, for the 2025/2026 academic year, in the first year (current year) of a
    Master’s degree programme in STEM subjects.
  2. To have completed a Bachelor’s degree by 31 December 2025, having achieved a grade of
    not less than 106/110 and with a weighted average mark for the examinations taken of not less than
    27/30.
  3. ISEE. Income level corresponding to ISEE 2026 must not exceed 37,000 euros.
  4. Only applications from female students who have not already received any further grants will be accepted
    study requirements for the same degree programme

Note: The scholarship award ceremony will take place in Milan on a date to be confirmed
