MIND THE GAP is a project that creates a bridge between schools and the STEM world using the language of art (STEAM). The exhibition, entitled “Mind the Gap: 12 female illustrators tell 12 STEM/STEAM women”, presents twelve original portraits created by female illustrators and dedicated to women who, throughout history, have left their mark on scientific and technological disciplines.
The heart of the project is also educational: through a PCTO path, a group of girls and boys from a Vicenza high school has the task of researching, selecting and narrating the twelve profiles, transforming them into content accessible to the public thanks to audioguides created by the students. In this way, the exhibition is not only to be “visited”, but to be listened to and experienced, with a direct involvement of the new generations.
Since 2025, the initiative has also become itinerant, coming directly to high schools in Vicenza and its province: a simple and effective way to bring inspiration into the classroom and stimulate reflection on talents, stereotypes and opportunities in STEAM.
