Rome, 2 February 2026 - It was preview of “The Perfect Pitch” presented today in Confindustria”, the first TV series on Italian startups. Available on Mediaset Infinity, the format recounts the growth path of three start-ups in the sustainable mobility sector, selected by RetImpresa in the ROCK competition for Open Innovation. The aim of the project is to support the international growth of start-ups and bring the new generations closer to the opportunities offered by the main players operating for the economic promotion of the country system.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Consulate of Italy in Detroit and the support of the diplomatic network, the start-ups Arlix, Limitless and Novac flew to the US to meet with investors and local businesspeople. In addition to activating contacts and relationships useful for their business, there was no lack of entertainment and challenges to overcome.
For Fabrizio Landi, President of RetImpresa, “The series The Perfect Pitch, through the TV story of the sustainable mobility start-ups protagonists of ROCK, experiments with a different language to tell about innovation. Today, if we really want to talk to innovators and young people, we must have the courage to use new communication models”.
“The Perfect Pitch is a first for our system and is a concrete example of how business and innovation can be told in a different language that speaks to start-ups, SMEs and new generations,” said Fausto Bianchi, President of Piccola Industria Confindustria and Vice President of Confindustria. “The path narrated by the series focuses on innovation, internationalisation and networking, decisive levers for the competitiveness of small enterprises. It is no coincidence that the story reaches as far as Detroit, a symbolic ecosystem of manufacturing and transformation. Initiatives such as this one show how Open Innovation and collaboration between companies, institutions and start-ups are concrete development tools to strengthen Made in Italy”.
“Start-ups provide a fundamental impetus for economic and social growth: they create jobs, attract new capital and meet the expectations of many young people who want to get involved. To do so, they need tools, skills and concrete opportunities”. Thus Riccardo Di Stefano, Confindustria President's Delegate for Education and Open Innovation. “The Perfect Pitch recounts precisely this path, which focuses on Italian entrepreneurial talent, the comparison with international markets and the opportunities offered by Open Innovation. Only with a greater integration between education and innovation can we transform ideas and knowledge into companies capable of growing and competing internationally”.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, and the President of 4.Manager, Stefano Cuzzilla. Also present for the Foreign Ministry was the Deputy Director General for Growth and Export Promotion, Filippo La Rosa.
The TV series, produced by IlNewyorkese, was narrated, through the projection of some clips, directly from the voice of the protagonists: Allegra Baistrocchi of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Italian Consul in Detroit, who oversaw the organisation and networking in the USA, and - as programme judges - Davide Ippolito, Ceo of TheNewYorker, Carlo La Rotonda, Director of RetImpresa, Monica Marangoni, journalist and TV presenter. Alessio Sansò, Ceo of Limitless Device, finally talked about the experience and opportunities of “The Perfect Pitch” from the perspective of the participating start-ups.
