Rome, 1 July 2026 – Confindustria and Transparency International Italia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two organisations and promoting joint initiatives on the issues of transparency, integrity, the rule of law and the prevention of corruption.

The agreement stems from a shared desire to help foster, within civil society and amongst businesses – with a particular focus on SMEs – a culture based on responsibility, public ethics, compliance with regulations and sustainability, which are strategic factors for the competitiveness of the production system and for the country’s development. This collaboration may take the form of organising events, conferences, public debates, research activities and training programmes.

Particular attention will be paid to promoting good integrity practices in the private sector, including through the Business Integrity Forum, a project run by Transparency International Italia to encourage dialogue between businesses, stakeholders and institutions on the issues of transparency and responsible business practices.

The agreement also provides for advocacy initiatives and thematic meetings on the convergence between business integrity and public procurement, with the aim of sharing ideas and proposing to public institutions the introduction of measures that reward companies with robust organisational models of business integrity.

The aim of the parties is to strengthen the contribution made by businesses to the growth of an economy based on legality, fairness and responsibility. Integrity should not be viewed merely as a means of safeguarding reputation or as a regulatory requirement, but as a competitive advantage throughout the production chain and an essential factor for the country’s growth.
