The ITS Pharma Academy Campus was born out of the collaboration between the ITS Academy Foundation for New Life Technologies in Rome and Farmindustria, launched with a Memorandum of Understanding in 2019, with a clear objective: to reduce the mismatch between the skills required by pharmaceutical companies and the technical profiles available.
The model works because companies are not “guests”, but an active part of the course: vocational needs are identified together, teaching plans are co-designed and the organisation reflects the dynamics of the world of production. The two-year courses focus on learning by doing4 semesters for a total of 1800 hours, with 900 hours of in-company training, to enter the department with already spendable skills.
Inaugurated in 2023, the Campus is a residential hub that concentrates classrooms, laboratories, services and spaces for projects and start-ups in one place, making the orientation more concrete and the learning experience more immersive. In 2025 the hub was further enhanced with 8 new workshops realised thanks to PNRR funds and co-designed with companies, to bring training and industry standards even closer together.
