Horizon Europe and the Clean Industrial Deal horizontal call

Networking and planning between industrial and scientific actors for European industrial transition

On 11 December it will be held at Confindustria a meeting dedicated to new Horizon Europe Horizontal Call on Clean Industrial Dealdesigned for the Italian research and innovation community. The initiative, promoted by Confindustria, Apre and MurIt will offer a concrete opportunity to deepen the contents of the call and to foster discussion between industry, research centres and institutional stakeholders. 

The call, announced by the European Commission, makes available about EUR 600 million between 2026 and 2027 for about 32 projectswith the aim of supporting Europe's industrial transition, strengthen the competitiveness and accelerate the adoption of decarbonisation e cleantech. The approach is industrial, bottom-up and cross-sectoral, in line with the priorities outlined by the Competitiveness Compass and from the Draghi Report. 

The event aims to promote qualified and strategic participation in the call, stimulating the building of competitive project consortia and partnerships. In this context, the pitch session will offer a space dedicated to the presentation of project ideas, emerging technologies and potential collaborations in view of the opening of the call in December 2025. The pitches will be short, focused and geared towards the construction of concrete projects. 

The announcement explained in brief

The Clean Industrial Deal call cuts across Clusters 4 and 5 of Horizon Europe and consists of four topics on two main areas of research and innovation: 

• Clean Tech for Climate - technological solutions for climate change mitigation 

• Decarbonisation of Energy-Intensive Industries - transition pathways for sectors such as chemicals, steel, cement and metals
