Legislative and Regional Affairs, Business Law

This Department carries out activities involving the standardization cycle, zeroes-in on issues related to territorial competitiveness and oversees some of the main areas of law and corporate culture.

Regarding standardization-related activities, the Department analyzes proposals that affect matters of interest to businesses, develops and/or supervises amendment proposals, contributes to the monitoring of approval processes, and tracks progress in terms of implementation new regulations.

Regarding local competitiveness, it devises actions to foster the creation of investment-friendly environments, specifically focusing on the regions of southern Italy (Mezzogiorno), through technical analyses, in-depth studies, and proposals for enforcing cohesion policies.

Within the scope of corporate law, it proposes measures to ensure a more favorable and appropriate regulatory framework for business activities and oversees the implementation of new regulations, so as to promote a proper balancing of market interests and values.

Lastly, it is also engaged in legal support and compliance.

Antonio Matonti

Antonio Matonti is a lawyer who graduated with honors in Law from Luiss "Guido Carli" University in Rome in 2005. Since 2006, he has been working at Confindustria in the Legislative Affairs Department, where he deals with national and European legislation, specializing in corporate law and public law of the economy. He is a member of several ministerial reform committees and a member of the Technical Secretariat of the Committee for Corporate Governance. He has been the liaising person for Confindustria in relation to various corporate operations and currently serves as the Secretary of the Shareholders' Agreement among the shareholder associations of Il Sole 24ORE SpA. He has authored publications in the field of public and corporate law and actively participates in numerous conferences and public debates.
Since 2006, he collaborates with the Chair of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of Luiss Guido Carli University.
He has been at the helm of the Legislative Affairs Area since 2014.
