Antonio Gozzi
Special Advisor for European Strategic Autonomy, Plan Mattei and Competitiveness

Antonio Gozzi was born in 1954.

He graduated in Economics at the University of Genoa, where he worked for a long time as an Associate Professor and also studied Industrial Economics.

He is a leading exponent of the world of steel and related activities, and has always been involved in activities and issues concerning industry, energy and shipping.

He has been Managing Director of Duferco and Chairman and CEO of Duferco Italia Holding, the company that organises the Italian presence of the multinational group, since 1995. He has been a key player in the transformation of this group - initially engaged only in trading steel and raw materials for the iron and steel industry - into a diversified reality in multiple sectors: from steel production to energy, from engineering to logistics and shipping.

He is Chairman of Duferco Travi e Profilati, Italy's largest producer of steel beams for construction.

He is President of Interconnector Energy Italia, the consortium that organises the top 80 Italian energy-intensive companies in the steel, chemical, cement and paper sectors.

Since 2022 he has been President of Federacciai.

He is a member of the General Council of Confindustria and has been Special Advisor to the President of Confindustria on European competitiveness and the Mattei Plan since 2024.

He is a Member of the Executive Board of the Aspen Institute.

Committed to the economic, social and cultural promotion of his home territory, he has dedicated the last 16 years to the promotion of youth sport through the Virtus Entella football club.
