- La April survey of the quick survey on industrial production, among large companies associated with Confindustria, notes worsening expectations compared to the previous month. The number of respondents convinced that production will remain stable is just over half of the sample (51.8%). The number of respondents who believe in an increase in production is no more than a quarter (21.4%) and the number of pessimists who believe that production will decrease is increasing (26.8%) (Chart 1).
- The industrialists interviewed identify, despite the great uncertainty on international trade, the demand and orders as the main strengths supporting production. The balance decreased but remained positive, standing at +5.0% from +6.1% in March (Chart 2).

Business expectations on the availability of labour in the coming months, turn favourable again (+0.4% from -0.1%).

The balance related to production costs improved while remaining in negative territory (-1.0% from -8.1%).

Judgments regarding the financial conditions remain almost stable (+1.7% from +2.1%).

On availability of materials Pessimism increased: the balance decreased compared to the March survey (-6.4% from -3.2%).

The industrialists' assessment of the availability of facilities continued to be positive this month although it worsened compared to the previous survey (+0.3% from +3.2%).
