The Business Award for Innovation (IxI) by Confindustria, Now in its fifteenth edition, this award recognises Italian companies that choose to strengthen their competitiveness by focusing on on innovation as a strategic lever for development. Innovation understood in a broad sense, not exclusively linked to products and processes, but also enhancing organisational models, corporate culture and the ability to generate value over time.
The Award is distinguished at European level for being the first innovation award to adopt the criteria of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), an internationally recognised model of excellence widely used for assessing organisational performance.
The application process is based on structured and comparable parameters., which enable participating companies to objectively measure their level of innovation maturity. The Business Award for Innovation It also draws on the contribution of a qualified network of experts in the fields of Research and Innovation and Finance for Innovation., provided by the initiative's partners to support businesses in a process of evaluation and growth.
The Confindustria IxI Award is organised in collaboration with the Giuseppina Mai Foundation, with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, 4.Manager Main Strategic Partner for Corporate Culture, with the contribution of IWS and with technical support from the’Italian Quality Award Association (APQI).

Through the Business Innovation Award, Confindustria participates in the National Innovation Award – “Premio dei Premi” (Prize of Prizes) for the Industry and Services category. This award The first nine companies to win the IxI Award are announced.: six belong to the category of small and medium-sized enterprises and three to the category of large enterprises.
The National Award for Innovation is an initiative of the Italian Government, established by decree of the President of the Council of Ministers on 7 April 2008 on the occasion of National Innovation Day. It is awarded by concession of the President of the Italian Republic and is managed by the National Foundation for Technological Innovation – COTEC. The aim of the initiative is to promote and support the best innovative and creative skills. of businesses, universities, public administrations, institutions and individual creators, contributing to the spread of a culture of innovation in the country. Businesses that have already received this award in the previous five editions are not eligible to compete for the Prize of Prizes.
Attached information materials and supporting documents are available, designed to help companies understand the Award and the evaluation criteria. These are preparatory materials, provided for guidance purposes., which must be consulted before starting to officially compile the application documentation.
Consulting the materials in advance allows participants to approach the process in an informed manner that is consistent with the assessment model adopted.
