MechTech is the three-year Professional Education and Training (IeFP) pathway dedicated to mechanics, activated at the “Guglielmo Marconi” Professional Institute in Prato thanks to the collaboration between Confindustria Toscana Nord, its training agency Formetica, the school and Prato's metalworking companies, with the support of the Region of Tuscany.
Aimed at girls and boys leaving eighth grade (under 18), MechTech is a concrete alternative to more traditional courses: a very practical experience, with many hours in the laboratory and an extensive internship in a company, designed to develop skills that are immediately spendable in the world of work. The course envisages a total of 2,970 hours, of which 1,085 in the classroom, 1,085 in the laboratory and 800 in internships.
At the end of the three years a professional qualification at EQF level III is obtained, with the possibility of continuing with a 4th year of specialisation or continuing in higher education. The course is free of charge, realised within the framework of Giovanisì and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
