The “Building Talents and Crafts” project is part of the “Thamm Plus” Programme, a trans-regional programme co-funded by the European Union and the Italian Ministry of the Interior, which aims to facilitate the mobility of skilled and trained labour between Morocco, Tunisia and Italy. The project, which started in May 2024 and will run until 31 December 2027, is implemented by the proposing body IOM-International Organisation for Migration and the partners ANCE, Associazione Centro Elis, Formedil and CESF, in cooperation with the Tunisian authorities (in particular the agencies ANETI and ATFP).
The project provides 290 hours of on-site training (technical and vocational training, Italian language and culture, work safety and Italian contracts) and subsequent job placement in the construction sector. Over three years, the project aims to train 2,000 young Tunisians, aged between 18 and 35, in the professional figures most in demand in the sector (e.g. bricklayer, carpenter, crane operator, tiler/floor layer, electrical system installer and maintenance, thermo-hydraulic system installer and maintenance, earth moving machine driver, road construction/asphalt worker).
