Civitavecchia, 25 January 2023 - The signing of the cooperation agreement between the Italian Navy and Confindustria took place today morning on board the ship Caio Duilio. The agreement was signed by the Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Enrico Credendino, and the President of Confindustria, Dr. Carlo Bonomi.

The agreement bears witness to the collaboration between the parties for the affirmation of an enterprise culture through research, development and innovation projects, especially within the framework of the National Military Research Plan (PNRM), with a focus on Cyber Defence, shipbuilding, technological innovation, and Emerging & Destroying Technologies, with specific reference to underwater technologies.

The agreement also has an important social and economic objective: that of the orientation and outplacement of discharged military personnel, through the implementation of Armed Force information desks at the Maritime Commands and a dedicated platform called 'Sistema Informativo Lavoro Difesa' (SILDifesa), set up to facilitate the matching of job supply and demand.

Admiral Credendino emphasised that 'This agreement represents an important step towards strengthening our identity as a maritime country: we need to invest in a synergic and concrete manner to develop a joint vision that, through the valorisation of shared ideas and projects, will allow the industry to contribute to the capacitive development of the country's maritime instrument.

"This agreement with the Italian Navy, the pride of our armed forces, goes in the direction hoped for by Confindustria, which sees 'working as a system' as the added value to support and implement the country's growth. All the more so in a sector with enormous potential such as the economy of the sea, in which our companies are world leaders. We are convinced that collaboration with the Italian Navy represents an important opportunity to pool our respective skills and develop synergies, particularly in the areas of training, innovation and safety," said Confindustria President Bonomi.
