CHILE, CONFINDUSTRIA: ENTREPRENEURIAL MISSION TO DIVERSIFY EXPORTS, INVESTMENTS AND INDUSTRIAL PARTNERSHIPS LAUNCHED

Cimmino: 'export potential of EUR 650 million in machinery, electrical equipment and metallurgy'

Rome, 26 March 2025 - Getting to know the development projects in Chile and the export opportunities for products, services and technologies, meeting local companies to evaluate possible partnerships, and learning more about how to participate in tenders and funding from the IDB-Inter-American Development Bank. These are the objectives of the entrepreneurial mission that started today in Santiago del Chile, prompted by Confindustria and realised thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Santiago, the ICE Office in Chile, ANIE, ANIMA, ANCE, OICE and Assolombarda.

"The presence of Italian companies in Chile represents a strategic asset for the growth and internationalisation of our production system. With a bilateral interchange of 2.2 billion euros in 2024 and a positive trade balance for Italy, Chile confirms itself as a dynamic and open market, with a high potential for our exports, estimated at an additional 650 million euros in machinery, electrical equipment, and metallurgy. Our companies, some of which are already strongly rooted in the country, find in Chile a solid partner, thanks to an expanding economy, a clear strategy of sustainable development and a growing demand for innovative technologies for the mining, infrastructure and energy sectors. As Confindustria, we will continue to support our companies in accessing international tenders and financing opportunities, so that they can contribute to Chile's development with the know-how, quality and innovation that characterise Made in Italy'. Thus the Vice President for Export and Investment Attraction of Confindustria, Barbara Cimminoleading the Italian delegation, composed of 32 companies, 2 business associations (ANCE and ANIMA), CDP and SACE.

This mission aims to further promote convergence between the country's needs and the supply of Italian companies. During the Foro de Inversiones de Magallanes and the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank, the Italian business delegation had the highest number of participants compared to those from other countries.
