CATASTROPHE INSURANCE: ORSINI, POSTPONE THE OPERATION OF SANCTIONS

Rome, 28 March 2025 - Just as the Council of Ministers is considering the extension of the regulation introducing catastrophic insurance policies, the president of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini, sends out a clear alarm signal: 'It is necessary to postpone the operation of sanctions on catastrophic policies. As we shared with Minister Urso again on Tuesday, we strongly urge that an extension be granted at least for the operation of the sanctions.

Companies,' the president continues, 'have so far had no opportunity to evaluate insurance offers and to compare them and choose the best solution to optimise coverage and avoid an unjustified waste of financial resources.

'If this were not the case,' Orsini concludes, 'the measure that we had welcomed with a constructive spirit would in fact be transformed into a form of forced levy.
