Rome, 3 November 2025 - Today, at the Confindustria headquarters in Rome, the project by collaboration promoted by Confindustria at partnership with UnipolIntesa Sanpaolo Protection e Postal Service Insure aimed at creating a digital platform that would make insurance solutions available to member companies to protect themselves against catastrophic risks. The intention is to respond to the new provisions introduced by the Budget Law 2024, which make it compulsory for all companies with their registered office in Italy, as well as foreign companies with a permanent establishment in the country registered in the Companies Registry, to take out insurance contracts to cover damage caused by natural disasters and catastrophic events such as earthquakes, floods, landslides and floods, the so-called 'Cat-Nat risks'.

Through a digital platform, active since 5 November, the member companies of Confindustria will have access, in full autonomy to a portal dedicated to quotations e purchase of insurance coverage. Companies will have a tariff dedicated to them for underwriting policies against natural hazards and related protection instruments. This is a solution breakthroughdesigned to respond to the needs of companies in a timely and efficient manner. The platform will be available on the Confindustria website at the link https://www.confindustria.it/progetti/polizze-catastrofali-la-piattaforma-digitale-dedicata. Access is restricted to companies in the System.

The project stems from the awareness that Italy is among the European countries most exposed to natural disaster risks. In the last fifty years, there have been 115 events, amounting to approximately 7% of the European totalbut with direct damage reaching 253 billion euroor over 30% of the European total. This is due to the particular risk profile of the country, where the earthquakes - of which Italy is second in Europe for frequency after Greece - represent 68% of total damage. The territorial picture confirms widespread exposure: the 95% of municipalities is subject to hydrogeological risk, the 35% of the population live in areas of high seismic hazard and a further third in areas of medium risk. In addition, almost a quarter of the national territory (23%) is exposed to the risk of landslides. These data place Italy at the first place in Europe for amount of direct damage recorded in the last 50 years.

Given the significance of the initiative and the need to ensure maximum soundness and efficiency, the model adopted is based on the co-insurancewith Unipol AssicurazioniIntesa Sanpaolo Protection e Poste Assicura who will share the risks between them. Unipol Assicurazioni will cover the role by delegate companymanaging insurance contracts in a unified manner.

Angelo Camilli - Confindustria Vice President for Credit, Finance and Taxation:

"With this project, Confindustria confirms its commitment to support the Italian industrial system in protecting against extreme natural events, promoting concrete and innovative solutions for the competitiveness of companies and their ability to respond to crises. The digital platform made available to member companies represents an important step forward in making fundamental protection tools more accessible, especially for SMEs, which suffer the economic impact of natural disasters more than others. Prevention and risk management are no longer just a necessity, but an indispensable condition to guarantee continuity, security and development to the country's productive fabric. However, it is essential that compulsory insurance is part of a broader national strategy that supports investments in prevention by businesses and provides for a public investment plan to make the territory safe".

Enrico San Pietro - Group insurance General Manager, Unipol Assicurazioni:

"The collaboration between three major Italian groups has resulted in an insurance solution dedicated to Confindustria members, offered by partners Unipol Assicurazioni, Intesa Sanpaolo Protezione and Poste Assicura. This solution offers protection against damage caused by extreme natural events at advantageous conditions. Through an intuitive digital platform, companies can easily subscribe to compulsory cover, benefiting from innovative tools and the support of a network of qualified professionals at every stage of the process, from quote request to after-sales management".

Andrea Pezzi - Managing Director, Poste Assicura:

"This is an initiative of great systemic value: the partnership between three major groups in our country, built with important innovative elements, will enable Confindustria member companies to access catastrophic cover that is compulsory by law, at competitive economic conditions. It represents an important step in the protection of the industrial system from natural catastrophes, and more generally it can be a tool to increase the spread of the insurance culture even among small and micro enterprises which, historically, resort to protection to a much lesser extent than larger companies".

Massimiliano Dalla Via - Managing Director, Intesa Sanpaolo Protection:

"The Intesa Sanpaolo Group's collaboration with Confindustria, a privileged interlocutor in supporting the Italian production system, continues. As Insurance Companies, our role is to accompany companies in risk management and ensure the continuity of their business. Initiatives like today's are a concrete step to protect companies' assets and investments and, at the same time, to contribute to the country's growth and resilience".
