The General Council of Confindustria, on the proposal of the designated President Emanuele Orsinitoday approved the presidency team for the four-year period 2024-2028 with 84% of the vote. Out of 132 members present, 110 voted in favour, there were 9 against and 13 blank ballots.
Ten elected Vice Presidents will flank Orsini, three of whom are confirmed: Francesco De Santiswhich will continue its commitment to Research and Development; Maurizio Marchesini who, after overseeing Supply Chains and Medium-Sized Enterprises, will be in charge of Labour and Industrial Relations and Stefan Pan, who will continue the work he has done in Europe over the past four years as the President's Delegate, with the vice-presidency for the European Union and the relationship with the European Confindustries. The other elected members of the presidency team are: Lucia Aleottiwho will be vice-president for the Study Centre, a crucial hub in the definition of economic policy strategies; Angelo Camillito whom Orsini will pass the baton on Credit, Finance and Taxation; Barbara Cimmino which will follow Export and Investment Attraction. A Vincenzo Marinese will be entrusted with responsibility for the organisation and relations with the territories and categories, while Natale Mazzuca will be in charge of Strategic Policies and Development in the Mezzogiorno. A Marco Nocivelli will be given the new delegation on Industrial Policy and Made in Italy, while Lara Ponti will be in charge of Environmental Transition and ESG objectives, central topics on the Confindustria agenda. The three Vice Presidents by right will complete the presidential team, Giovanni BaroniPresident of Small Industry, Riccardo Di StefanoPresident of the Young Entrepreneurs and Annalisa Sassi, President of the Council of Regional Representations.
The President-designate will retain responsibility for a few major strategic chapters: Digital Transition, Enterprise Culture and Legal Certainty.
The new Confindustria board will be assisted by five delegates of the President: Leopoldo Destro to Transport, Logistics and the Tourism Industry and Riccardo Di Stefanowho will be entrusted with the delegation of Education and Open Innovation. Giorgio Marsiaj will deal with Space Economy, ad Aurelio Regina will be delegated to Energy, while Mario Zanetti The Economy of the Sea will follow.
Finally, the 2024-2028 team, at the request of the President-designate, will also be supported by three Special Advisors: Antonio Gozzi with responsibility for European Strategic Autonomy, the Mattei Plan and Competitiveness, Gianfelice Rocca for Life Sciences and Alberto Tripi for Artificial Intelligence.
Closing the Council meeting, President-designate Orsini thanked Ambassador Langella for his work, announcing that until his next assignment, he will be at the President-designate's side as diplomatic advisor. The new Director General will be Maurizio Tarquini.
