The IV Franco-Italian Economic Forum between Confindustria and the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), an appointment that testifies to the increasingly close collaboration between Italy and France, as also demonstrated by the signing of the Treaty of the Quirinale last year.

The objective of the meeting was to further strengthen the cooperation between the industrial systems of the two countries, and to elaborate concrete and shared proposals addressed to the European institutions and the respective governments to preserve and strengthen the competitiveness of the production fabric and to face the enormous challenges posed by the green and digital transitions.

To this end, three priority strands were identified through a debate between Italian and French business representatives, in the presence of institutional interlocutors:

  1. Supporting the energy transition also in relation to geopolitical shocks in Europe
  2. Properly financing the dual green and digital transformation
  3. Developing synergies in the fields of transport, defence, security and space

The joint declaration also emphasised the Mediterranean and the importance of a shared economic strategy for the development of this area

At the end of the work, the President of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi and the President of Medef Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux signed a Joint Declaration that will be sent to the representatives of the European institutions and the two national governments.
