EXPAND: a digital tool for informed export decisions

EXPAND is a innovative and advanced digital platform designed to analyse markets, products and competitors, identifying precisely where and how to grow the international presence of companies.

Based on a proprietary methodology and a sophisticated data processing algorithm, the platform offers reliable, scalable and customisable insights, to support both companies already active in foreign markets and those wishing to start internationalisation.

The modular interface allows an immediate reading of key indicators such as market share, competitive positioning and potential by geographic area and sector, turning data into operational tools for strategy definition.

Cimmino: “Turning data into strategic choices”

During the inaugural stage in Bergamo, the Confindustria Vice President for Export and Investment Attraction, Barbara Cimmino, emphasised the strategic value of EXPAND in the global competitive environment:

“In an increasingly competitive scenario, tools such as EXPAND become essential for transforming data into strategic choices, identifying untapped export potential and supporting companies and territories in growth decisions through diversification of outlet markets.”

In his speech, Cimmino also recalled Italy's role in international trade, highlighting how the country is Europe's second-largest manufacturer and the EU's second-largest exporter, with a exports exceeding EUR 600 billion and a presence in around 200 markets, with over 5000 product categories.

Integrated work with the Country System

The objective of the Roadshow is to encourage widespread use of EXPAND within the Country System, in synergy with the association system and with ICE Agency, priority markets, shared planning and concrete initiatives, with a special focus on SMEs.

The stage in Bergamo represented the first step along this path, thanks also to discussions with local associations and the direct involvement of businesses.

EXPAND is the result of a synergetic collaboration of Confindustria with the Fondazione Manlio Masi, ENET and IlSole24Ore.
