The General Council of Confindustria appointed President Emanuele Orsini with 147 preferences. 173 of the 187 eligible voters voted. Invalid ballots 17 and blank ballots 9. The result was validated by the Special Board formed by Sergio Arcioni, Domenico Barberio, Luca Businaro and Marta Spinelli.

The nomination must have the approval of the Assembly of Delegates, convened on 23 May, which will in fact elect the 32nd President of Confindustria.

On 18 April, the General Council will have to decide on the programme and the team of vice-presidents chosen by the president-designate.
