Confindustria met with the President of the European Parliament in Milan, Roberta Metsola, at the meeting with representatives of the main Italian economic and financial categories.
During the meeting, the Confindustria Vice President for the European Union, Stefan Panhe thanked Metsola 'for his constant attention to the world of production and his commitment to strengthening the dialogue between European institutions and businesses'.
Pan then emphasised that "sustainability should be pursued as a lever for growth, not as a bureaucratic constraint', emphasising the need to speed up regulatory simplification to define 'a more streamlined, proportionate and predictable framework, capable of freeing up resources for innovation, investment and decarbonisation'.
Among the priorities indicated by Confindustria emerge:
- a better coordination between industrial simplification and financial regulation;
- the revision of the Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principlemore pragmatic and consistent with the objectives of the green transition;
- a effective multi-level governance in the new Multiannual Financial Frameworkcapable of ensuring coherence between industrial policy and the use of European funds.
"Reducing the cost of energy, technological neutrality e completion of the internal market - reiterated Pan - are the other three horizontal priorities, which we will also address with BDI e MEDEF at trilateral to be held in early November in Rome".
