CONFINDUSTRIA AND RAI TOGETHER TO OVERCOME THE GENDER GAP
FIRST BUSINESS ASSOCIATION TO JOIN 'NO WOMEN NO PANEL'
'No Women No Panel' is the European campaign introduced in Italy by RAI to promote a balanced and plural participation of women and men in communication events.
Confindustria is the first business association to become a partner in the initiative by signing the Memorandum of Understanding with RAI, with the Representation in Italy of the European Commission and with the first signatory institutions.
The aim is to disseminate models and messages that guarantee equal access to and intervention in educational communication spaces, respect for women's personal cultural and professional dignity and enhancement of their role in society.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Vice President for Environment, Sustainability and Culture of Confindustria, Katia Da Ros, and Rai President, Marinella Soldi.
"Confindustria fully supports the principle, value and culture of gender equality, also understood as plural and equal participation in public debate, with a view to eliminating the stereotypes and prejudices that still persist in society," said the Vice President of Confindustria Katia Da Ros. "An equal gender culture, together with social, economic and environmental sustainability, represent the indispensable competitive levers for the country's development. I thank the RAI and President Marinella Soldi,' added Da Ros, 'and with a great sense of responsibility I confirm Confindustria's commitment and determination to work together to try to overcome the gender gap and build a more just and inclusive society in which women's talents, skills and perspectives are fully recognised'.
'I believe that Confindustria's membership will make the impact of this initiative in favour of gender equality even more significant and strong,' said Marinella Soldi President Rai. In fact, after political and cultural institutions, the business world, the places of doing, where the competitive advantages of an increasingly equal participation of men and women are experienced in daily work, joins the No Women No Panel network. I am certain, then, that the women entrepreneurs and managers of Confindustria represent exceptional 'role models', clear symbols that girls can aspire to hold any role, with commitment and merit'.
