With the G7, of which Italy will take over the presidency from 1 January 2024, the work of the B7, the Engagement Group reserved for the business world, which in a scenario of uncertainty such as the current one assumes a key role in identifying and directing the priorities of the global economic agenda, will begin.
As on the occasion of the B20 in 2021, Confindustria President Carlo Bonomi has entrusted the leadership of this important process to Emma Marcegaglia, who will act as B7 Chair dialoguing with the heads of the G7 industrial federations, making use of two high-profile CEO advisory bodies - one national and one international -, Confindustria's internal team and the assistance of Deloitte Italia as knowledge partner of the project.
The B7 Summit will be held between the end of May and mid-June with the presentation of the Final Declaration to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in her capacity as G7 President.
The topics on which the work will focus will have four priority axes:
- Global value chains;
- Climate, energy and environmental transitions;
- Data economy and digitisation;
- Work.
Artificial intelligence will be the cross-cutting theme.
