Innovation Fund – Net Zero Technologies 2025 Call for Proposals

As part of the Innovation Fund, the European Commission has published the call for proposals. “Innovation Fund call 2025 Net Zero Technologies” (INNOVFUND-2024-NZT).

The Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest funding programmes for the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies. The Fund's overall objective is to support highly innovative projects that introduce technologies, processes, business models, products or services with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The 2025 call for proposals includes the following topics:

  • General decarbonisation – Large-Scale Projects: for projects with a capex exceeding €100 million;
  • General decarbonisation – Medium-Scale Projects: for projects worth over 20 million and up to 100 million euros;
  • General decarbonisation – Small-Scale Projects: for projects ranging from 2.5 million to 20 million euros;
  • Clean-tech manufacturing: for projects that increase plant production capacity and with a capex of over €2.5 million;
  • Pilot projects: for highly innovative and disruptive technologies for deep decarbonisation, with a capex exceeding €2.5 million.

The total budget for this call for applications is 2.9 billion euros, divided among the various topics as follows:

  • Large-Scale Projects: 1.2 billion euros;
  • Medium-Scale Projects: 300 million euros;
  • Small-Scale Projects: 100 million euros;
  • Clean-tech Manufacturing: 1 billion euros;
  • Pilot Projects: 300 million

The maximum amount of the grant per project shall not exceed 60% of the eligible costs.

The deadline is 23 April 2026., 5 p.m.
