Le Social Prerogative and Specific Competencies Lines (SOCPL) are funding lines that are autonomous from the other Programmes and derive from specific powers conferred on the European Commission directly by the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). These budget lines are managed by the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL) and deal with social dialogue, labour mobility and analysis of the social, demographic and family situation.

Budgets for the different prerogative budget lines are established annually.
