The maritime sector has always been an area of great opportunity and development for states and companies.
Through the development of companies and entities operating in this sector, numerous advantages can be reaped in terms of technological innovation and the achievement of emission standards that fit in perfectly with European strategies.
Lo European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) has as its main objective the support of enterprises operating in the maritime and fishing sector, using strategies that can also bring benefits in terms of ocean management sustainable. The 2021-2027 programme will have as its main objectives:
- the promotion of sustainable fishing and the protection of marine biological resources;
- contribution to the food security Europe through sustainable and competitive aquaculture markets and techniques;
- growth of a blue economy sustainable;
- strengthening of international ocean governance.
New in the programme are:
- greater choice and simplification for member states in identifying the support needed for their strategic priorities;
- better alignment with other investment and structural funds;
- greater focus on results;
- greater focus on small-scale fishermen, to encourage sustainable fishing techniques;
- greater support for coastal communities;
- closer links with other European policies;
- support clean, sustainable and sustainable ocean management strategies and green.
Finally, in addition to the EMFAF fund, there are other instruments that can be useful for the purposes mentioned above:
- European Regional Development Fund: for investment in sea and sea-basin management strategies;
- European Social Fund: for the development of skills and capabilities in the maritime sector;
- research and innovation programme: to support SMEs in testing and innovating their solutions for a blue growth;
- the investEU instrument: a useful tool for financial promotion and investment support aimed at the development of a blue economy.
