Creative Europe is the European support programme for the cultural and creative sectors for the period 2021-2027. The Programme has a total budget of 2.44 billion1.47 billion in the previous programming period (2014-2020).

It is divided into three sections:

• MediaIt concerns the audiovisual sector;
• CultureIt concerns the cultural and creative sectors, with the exception of the audiovisual sector;
• Cross-sectoralIt covers actions in all cultural and creative sectors.

The general objectives of the programme are:

• to safeguard, develop and promote European cultural and linguistic diversity and cultural heritage;
• strengthen the competitiveness and economic potential of the cultural and creative sectors, in particular the audiovisual sector.
