At the end of the 7th Trilateral Business Forum, held in Rome on 5 and 6 November 2025, Confindustria, BDI and MEDEF have released a joint declaration which forcefully recalls the urgency of a European industrial relaunch.

The text states that "the risk of decline and deindustrialisation is now higher than ever". and calls on the European Union to act immediately to strengthening Europe's competitiveness and strategic autonomy.
The three organisations identify six priorities: completing the Single Market and simplifying the rules; making green transition a driver of competitiveness; strengthening technological and digital sovereignty; gearing the European budget to growth; consolidating life sciences as a strategic sector; and investing in defence and space as pillars of common security.

The work was attended by Emanuele Orsini, Peter Leibinger e Patrick Martintogether with the European Commissioner Stéphane Séjournéwhich offered the Commission's view on EU industrial policy.
