Confindustria agrees with the inspiring rationale of the European Parliament and Council's proposal for a directive, namely, to avoid a distorted use of traineeships, a problem that undoubtedly also concerns our country, despite the wide-ranging protection apparatus in place.
However, it should be better specified that from the scope of the Directive are excluding curricular traineeships.
Precisely because they are part of a fully training pathway, it would in fact make no sense to surround curricular traineeships with all the guarantees of an ordinary employment relationship, except, of course, for the recognition of a series of fundamental guarantees that, moreover, are already provided for by the national regulations in force, such as those on health and safety at work.
