The mid-term review of cohesion policy proposed by the European Commission represents an opportunity for Member States to redirect cohesion resources towards strategic growth drivers that are more consistent with the new economic and political challenges facing Europe. This opportunity can only be seized through a process based on genuine partnership and constructive dialogue between all parties involved.
In this perspective, in recent months Confindustria has worked, with the contribution of the Regional Representations, to collect the main proposals of the business system useful for the definition of medium-term reprogramming, contained in the paper "Mid-term review of cohesion policy 2021-2027. Reprogramming proposals'.
The document systematises the needs expressed by territories and identifies the most relevant investment priorities to strengthen competitiveness, innovation and cohesion. The aim is to offer Administrations a concrete technical contribution, supporting effective reprogramming choices in line with the real needs of the productive fabric. In this way, Confindustria intends to favour a targeted use of resources, capable of generating measurable impacts on the development of territories and industrial supply chains.
