Confindustria, thanks to a coordinated action at the level of the association system and the lobbying activity carried out through the Delegation in Brussels, followed the approval process of the NIS 2 Directive, actively contributing to its definition.
The new structure of the NIS 2 Directive exceeds and reinforces what was already provided for in the previous NIS DirectiveFirst of all, by broadening the sectors of application and the subjects covered. Moreover, NIS 2 appears to be more functional in ensuring the secure use of networks and information systems, especially with regard to the operation of the essential infrastructures of the Country System, whether they are managed by public or private entities.
Confindustria therefore agrees with the current approach of the Draft Legislative Decree transposing the NIS 2 Directive, just as it agrees with the underlying principles on which the National Cybersecurity Agency (NCA) has based the regulatory framework.
Confindustria promptly initiated a fruitful interlocution with ACN to initiate a dialogue between companies in NIS 2 sectors and ACN itself, in order to bring to light any critical issues and elements to be taken into account in the conduct of regulatory activities.
