Since March 2022, Confindustria has fully supported the Italian government's call for coordinated action at EU level to mitigate gas prices.

We believe, however, that effective intervention must be carried out both cyclically and structurally:

• The call for coordinated action on gas prices must be pursued;
• At the structural level, it is necessary to complete the European gas market quickly by developing a regulated market with physical and financial futures products to replace the current gas price reference products.
