'The development of nuclear energy in the national energy mix: the potential for the Italian SMR and AMR industry' is the study carried out by Confindustria and ENEA that aims to lay the regulatory, technological, economic, market and social foundations for a safe return of nuclear power in Italy.

Introducing nuclear power back into our energy mix would keep energy costs down, strengthen energy security/independence profiles and facilitate the transition to a efficient, sustainable and competitive industrial model.

The study explores the economic and technical characteristics of SMRs and AMRs for their use in industry, envisaging their integration into hard-to-abate gas and power generation industrial districts for the generation of electricity and process heat.
