Confindustria took part in the hearing at the Finance Commission of the Chamber of Deputies concerning the authentic interpretation of the TARI intended to cover the municipal waste management service, and its application to industrial enterprises producing special waste.

A positive opinion was expressed on the proposal to end the current dispute with municipalities. The proposal is in line with the established orientation of administrative practice and jurisprudence on the exclusion from TARI of areas where special waste is generated, which are removed from municipal ownership and disposed of through authorised private entities.

The extension of the fixed TARI to industrial areas, on the basis of guidelines from the Supreme Court of Cassation referring to years preceding these clarifications, is of dubious legitimacy and in conflict with national and EU legislation. We expressed the importance of not going backwards with respect to circular economy objectives.
