The report "Artificial Intelligence for the Italian System"which was set up on the initiative of the Sounding Board Artificial Intelligence of Confindustria chaired by Alberto Tripi, offers an up-to-date, concrete and production system-oriented overview of the evolution and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in Italy. It also brings together for the first time in Italy more than 240 use cases for artificial intelligence, already implemented and active in more than 70 companies operating in key sectors of the national economy.
Through a detailed mapping by sectors and business functions, the report illustrates how AI is already positively transforming production processes, citizen services, mobility, healthcare, tourism and much more. Ample space is also devoted to the history of artificial intelligence, the level of adoption in Italy and developments in European legislation on artificial intelligence.
The document is intended as an analysis and orientation tool for companies, policy makers and public and private stakeholders. Its purpose is twofold: on the one hand, by sharing the know-how of companies that have adopted AI applications, it intends to promote a real AI culture among Italian companies, especially SMEs. On the other, it wants to provide a solid basis on which to build inclusive, sustainable and innovation-oriented industrial policies and development strategies.
