The theme of the welfare is a central issue for the future of our country because it touches on very topical subjects: income support policies, the pension system, education, active labour policies, healthcare, care for the non-self-sufficient.

On the other hand, the welfare state is an identity element of the economic and social model that has established itself in Italy and as such must be protected. It is, however, equally evident that the welfare state of our country was designed with great ideal vision on the basis of a context that was profoundly different from today's demographic, social and economic context.
