"Eureka! It works!”is an orientation project promoted by Federmeccanica in agreement with the MIM - Ministry of Education and Merit, addressed to the children of the third, fourth and fifth grade of primary school and the boys of the first and second year of secondary school, with the aim of bringing them closer to the value of the “know-how".
Over 13 editions realised, the project takes shape in a technological construction competition: students, working in groups, must conceive, design and build a working toy from a kit provided by Federmeccanica together with the Territorial confederations. Schools participate through local associations, which follow the development of activities and the organisation of local selections, up to a final national event.
“Eureka! It Works!” also supports teachers in laboratory teaching, thanks to dedicated materials and video-pills, and proposes learning based on cooperative learning and learning by doing, to grow curiosity, skills and passion for technical-scientific culture.
Federmeccanica's project comes to life thanks to the many initiatives carried out by the Territorial Associations of the Confindustria System, They take it to schools and local communities. More than 19,000 children participated in the 13th edition of Eureka!Works! of the primary schools of Alessandria, Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Asti, Bari, Bergamo, Biella, Brescia, Brianza, Calabria, Canavese, Caserta, Como, Cuneo, Florence, Grosseto, Lecco, Legnano, Livorno, Lucca, Macerata, Massa Carrara, Matera, Messina, Milan, Monza, Naples, Padua, Pavia, Pesaro, Piacenza, Potenza, Ravenna, Reggio Emilia, Rome and Lazio, Rovigo, Sondrio, Taranto, Turin, Trento, Treviso, Udine, Urbino, Valle D'Aosta, Varese, Venice, Vicenza.
