A new governance structure with eight vice-presidents and seven managing directors to lead Piccola Industria until 2029

The newly elected President of Confindustria's Small Industry Association, Fausto Bianchi, presented the new Presidential Team that will lead the organisation until 2029. A renewed structure defined not only according to criteria of competence and territorial representation, but also with a strong focus on the transformations that the production system is undergoing.

“These appointments form a team that combines expertise, vision and a deep focus on local areas and the value of small businesses, with a strong emphasis on growth, which is central to this presidency's programme. I have chosen people who are capable of representing the real needs of businesses and interpreting the challenges and transitions currently underway., particularly the generational divide, as levers for building the future. We will work together, with a great sense of responsibility, to achieve the goals that our businesses, and the country with them, deserve,” said Bianchi.

A team focused on growth and representing local areas

The new governance is part of the process initiated by the President at the beginning of his term of office, in line with his commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs, supporting investment and enhancing the role of local areas in innovation and internationalisation processes.

The eight Vice-Presidents

Bianchi has appointed eight vice-presidents, each with strategic responsibilities to support businesses through major economic and industrial transitions:

  • Giammaria De Paulis – People, Training and Skills
  • Anna Del Sorbo – The European Union and its relationship with European industry associations
  • Luca Fiorini – Regulatory and administrative simplification
  • Mattia Macellari – Digital transition, innovation and artificial intelligence
  • Roberto Marti – Transport, Logistics and Infrastructure
  • Fausto Mazzali – Foreign Markets and International Relations
  • Christian Ostet – Association relations and organisation
  • Filippo Sertorio – Credit, Finance and Taxation

The president retained responsibility for Industrial Policy – Networks and Supply Chains and, on an interim basis, for Culture and Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability.

The seven managing directors

The team is completed by seven managing directors, who will oversee strategic areas for the competitiveness of small businesses:

  • Roberto Franchina – Strategic policies for Southern Italy
  • Gianluca Giordano – Extraordinary corporate transactions and generational transition
  • Michele Da Col – Communication, Marketing and Community
  • Matteo Assolari – Business Continuity
  • Cristiano Dionisi – Economy of the Sea
  • Renato Goretta – Aerospace, Defence and Security

Governance and outlook

The objective is supporting SMEs in the challenges of growth and productivity, innovation and new markets, promoting the daily commitment of entrepreneurs who represent the backbone of the Italian economy, with a strong focus on further consolidating the link between Viale dell'Astronomia and the territory, a traditional strength of Piccola Industria within the System.
