Pan: 'Speed up simplification and business support at European level'
Milan, 24 October 2025 - Today, in Milan, the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola met with representatives of the main Italian economic and financial categories.
During the discussion, the Vice President of Confindustria for the European Union, Stefan Pan, thanked President Metsola 'for her attention to the manufacturing world and her commitment to strengthening the dialogue between the European institutions and businesses'.
During the discussion, Pan emphasised that "sustainability should be pursued as a lever for growth, not as a bureaucratic constraint", recalling the importance of accelerating simplification, for a "leaner, proportionate and predictable regulatory framework, capable of freeing up resources for innovation, investment and decarbonisation".
Among the priorities indicated by Confindustria: better coordination between industrial simplification and financial regulationa revision of the principle Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) to make it more pragmatic and consistent with the objectives of the green transition, and a effective multi-level governance in the new Multiannual Financial Framework ensuring consistency between industrial policy and the use of European funds.
"Reducing Energy Costs, Technology Neutrality and Completing the Internal Market - reiterated Pan - are the other three horizontal priorities, which we will also address with BDI and MEDEF at the trilateral in Rome in early November."
