Within the framework of the Interreg Central Europe Programme, the fourth call, 'Strategic call for capitalisation', was published.

Interreg is one of the EU's key instruments for supporting cross-border cooperation through project funding.

Interreg Central Europe is a funding programme for cohesive regional development in the Central European area and promotes transnational cooperation to make regions greener, smarter and more interconnected.

The programme unites partners from 81 regions in 9 EU Member States. As far as Italy is concerned, the participating regions are: Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont, Valle D'Aosta, Veneto, Autonomous Province of Trento, Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

The fourth call has a specific focus on cross-border cooperation to make Central Europe more competitive and resilient.

The overall objective of the call is not to finance new projects, but to enhance and extend the impact of existing ones, helping to reduce the obstacles arising from borders that limit economic, institutional and territorial flows in Central Europe, and fostering greater cohesion and functional interconnection between its regions.

Projects should focus on capitalising on existing results and outputs through joint actions at local and/or regional level, actively involving relevant stakeholders.

The total indicative budget for this call is 23 millioni of euro.
