Artificial intelligence, how to use it concretely in the company and, more generally, in the workplace? This question is answered by the 'Artificial Intelligence for the Italian System' report realised by the Artificial Intelligence Sounding Board led by Alberto Tripi, Special Advisor of Confindustria, and aimed at companies, policy makers and public and private stakeholders.
The paper focuses on some of the main use cases in Italian companies, identified from the analysis of over 240 examples collected from 76 companies in the association system. The coring is proposed through a double key: by sector and by business function. In this way, the person who takes over the relationship has the opportunity to go straight to what interests him most.
It has to be said, in fact, that since the subject of artificial intelligence has been back in vogue - namely since the release in late 2022 of ChatGPT and the explosion of generative AI - a great deal of literature has been produced on the subject, scientific and otherwise, with the risk of disorientating potential users.
Thanks to this report, however, companies have the opportunity to learn what is already successfully used in other realities and take inspiration. Some examples? From the automation of clinical documentation in the field of health to the digital twin in the manufacturing sector, from predictive maintenance for sustainable mobility to tools for better management of waste disposal by public administrations, to the use of AI in tourism, enabling more effective management of bookings as well as more precise flow analysis.
Similarly, corporate functions such as human resources and administration, sales and marketing or research and development are now finding in artificial intelligence a tool to improve the quality of work and the way it is carried out.
Preceded by a quick overview of the adoption of artificial intelligence in our country from Istat and European Commission data, the report concludes with a final chapter devoted to EU regulation on the subject.
