Energy

We deal with it because

Secure and competitively priced energy is the lifeblood of business. However, the energy transition to sources with a lower environmental impact is a challenge that must be met by changing the ways in which energy is produced and consumed. Only through the development of appropriate policies will it be possible to create a level playing field with European and international competitors, attract investment and reduce climate-changing emissions.

Promoting competitive energy prices for industry

High energy costs penalise companies. Confindustria is committed to creating favourable conditions for industrial development with structural interventions on taxation and charges, promoting self-production and increasing the availability of mature renewable sources. We are working to ensure that the energy transition combines economic, social and environmental sustainability and becomes a growth lever for the production system.

Promoting energy independence and security

In order to cope with volatile geopolitical settings and the limited availability of energy raw materials in the country, it is necessary to define a diversified and secure energy mix, creating reliable and lasting partnerships for supply, also by upgrading the infrastructure, and simplifying the procedures for installing plants in the country.

Simplifying procedures and limiting red tape

The transformation of our energy system passes through the strengthening of the industrial production chain of net zero and low carbon technologies. Confindustria favours investments in renewables, storage, hydrogen and, bioenergy, including biomethane and biofuels, and supports a plan for the nuclear supply chain and industrial competitiveness in CO2 Capture and Storage.
