This year's study <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">photographs a South in progressive recovery and structural strengthening. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">The growth dynamic, driven by investments, has been more sustained in recent years than in the rest of the country, albeit within a complex macroeconomic and geopolitical context. The historical gaps with respect to the country's other macro-areas have not been overcome, but a significant change of pace has been recorded, opening up a credible convergence trajectory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">In 2025 the Synthetic Index of the Southern Economy records a\u00a0<b>growth of 6.1 points<\/b>\u00a0after the 2024 slowdown.\u00a0<\/span>The\u00a0<b>GDP of the Mezzogiorno<\/b> grows by +7.7% in the period 2019-2024, above the national average (+5.8%). GDP per capita also rises, to EUR 22,000, but is still well below the Italian average. The labour market shows growth of\u2019<b>employment<\/b> but critical issues related to labour costs and skills mismatch remain. The\u00a0<b>production fabric<\/b> continues to transform: the number of corporations is increasing (+4.0%), a sign of a gradual strengthening of the production structure.
