<\/span>Rome, 31 October 2023<\/span><\/b> - In the context of a rapidly changing labour market, lifelong learning plays a crucial role in Italy's development, especially in the manufacturing sector. With this in mind, the Network of Italian UNESCO Chairs, Confindustria and the Italian National Commission for UNESCO today promoted a training seminar dedicated to lifelong learning, which took place at the Confindustria headquarters. The initiative focused on an in-depth analysis of lifelong learning in the country and presented a Road Map outlining future strategies and identifying areas where gaps need to be filled. Lifelong learning is seen as a key element in enhancing the competitiveness of institutions and companies, promoting the individual growth of workers and the continuous acquisition of skills.<\/span>

<\/span>The seminar coincides with the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, a network involving 292 cities in 76 countries and over 310 million citizens. The event, promoted by the UNESCO Institute Hamburg and UNESCO, invites all institutional and business actors to join the #ImALifelongLearner campaign. This commitment aims to uphold the right to education at all ages and to promote a paradigm shift in learning and education systems, ensuring access to knowledge for all to contribute to a more equitable, just and sustainable society.<\/span>

<\/span>\"UNESCO plays a commendable role in promoting Life Long Learning and we hope that Italy can follow its lead in order to strengthen this important educational sector,\" said Franco Bernab\u00e8, President of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO<\/b>.<\/span> <\/p>\n
