In today's business environment, more and more companies are collaborating and sharing skills to foster an integrated and strategic vision. Human capital, therefore, for multinationals is a decisive lever for business development, and this is why they consider it a priority to invest in training, especially of younger people.

"One of the central themes addressed by ABIE is the growth of Italy's competitiveness. Growth that also passes through the attention paid to the development of human resources skills with repercussions that go well beyond the benefits for the companies themselves," says the Vice President for Internationalisation of Confindustria and President of the Advisory Board Foreign Investors Barbara Beltrame Giacomello. "From this idea was born the experimental Next Gen Days project, which we hope will expand its scope over time, involving more and more companies and talent.

'From the very beginning, we have believed in the value of matching young talent from our companies,' says Lorenzo Bottinelli, Vice President and Managing Director of BASF Group in Italy and coordinator of the Next Gen Days project for ABIE - We think it is a way to invest in the human capital represented by young people working in multinationals in our country. An opportunity to exchange best practices, networking and professional growth dedicated to the potential managers of the future. For these reasons we are proud to host the first event at our Cesano Maderno and Fino Mornasco sites'.

18 Italian foreign-controlled companies united in ABIE have joined 'Next Gen Days' by selecting two young talent among its employees to be involved in the project. Each company also pledged to host the training sessions on a rotating basis. For this year, the following are planned 4 meetings which will take place in BASF Italy, Novartis Italy, Nestlé Group in Italy and Kering Italy. Each appointment includes a training ad hoc on four macro-areas that are considered fundamental to assert oneself in today's working environment: manufacturing, leadership, sustainability e business management. During each session there will be moments of networking and informal discussions among colleagues, useful to stimulate the exchange of experiences and best practices.

The talents involved in the project will have the opportunity to develop their skills directly in the field, with the aim of declining and implementing them. Likewise, they will have the opportunity to discover and experience working environments in different sectors, with experienced colleagues in functions different from their own.

The 18 companies involved are: ABB ITALIA, ACCENTURE, COGNE ACCIAI SPECIALI S.p.A., BASF ITALIA, AVF GRUPPO BELTRAME, HITACHI GROUP, KERING ITALIA, NESTLÉ GROUP IN ITALIA, NOVARTIS FARMA S.p.A., BIRRA PERONI S.r.l, PHILIP MORRIS ITALIA, PROCTER&GAMBLE, SANOFI ITALIA, SIEMENS Spa, STMicroelectronics S.r.l, TITAGARH FIREMA S.p.A., TOYOTA MATERIAL HANDLING ITALIA, VOLKSWAGEN GROUP ITALIA S.p.A.

THE “NEXT GEN DAYS” THE FIRST TRAINING PROGRAMME ORGANISED BY CONFINDUSTRIA'S FOREIGN INVESTORS ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG TALENTS 18 multinationals are taking part.
