Since the company establishment A+K has added to its mission – creating ethical employment as well as health education however at the heart of what we do still remains the high-quality durable football.
Started in 2004 by the late Jim Cogan, his vision was to create a high quality durable football suitable for the though African conditions. Provides formal employment for people who lack formal education and live in the informal (slum) areas of Nairobi. Increasing employability skills set of an underprivileged group of people, including those with disabilities. It is the only official ball maker in East Africa, sourcing leather from local tanneries and create value addition within the leather supply chain in Kenya. Moreover, upcycling of leather into balls, which in turn may be donated to children to increase access to play and/or sold with proceeds use to purchase balls.
