This Division protects the interests of companies in the South of Italy, widely known as “Il Mezzogiorno” in Italy.

Specifically, the Division develops policies to address the main issues of interest to the South of Italy, from cohesion strategy to use of structural funds in the South, incentives to companies and other schemes to improve competitiveness of Southern-based companies.

The Division also manages the secretariat of representative bodies for Southern Italian companies provided for by the Confindustria bylaws (the Mezzogiorno Committee and Commission).

The Mezzogiorno Division carries out the following functions:

• producing information and commentary dossiers on main issues;
• developing studies on matters of interest to Southern Italy, published as part of the “Studies and Documents” collection;
• publishing a regular update on the economic and social state of Southern Italy (Check up Mezzogiorno);
• publishing an annual report on regional and provincial economic and social indicators, which provides vast statistical information on the territory;
• communicating regularly with members in Southern Italy through the Newsletter Mezzogiorno.
