Prizes given to the three Italian companies judged "for top excellence". The awards are structured as a keenly fought competition in which the participants present practical case studies aimed at raising awareness on all that is excellent about Italian enterprise. A prize is awarded in three different categories. 1. Award for excellence in local area development: a prize for performance as a major local player, boosting the economy and also responding to the social, environmental and cultural needs of the institutions, workforce and ecosystem of the community in which the company is based. 2. Worldwide "Made in Italy" award: a prize for the best performance in promoting the "Made in Italy" brand on a global scale, by means of a winning product, idea or business initiative. This prize therefore goes to the company that best supports the high profile image of Italy in international markets. 3. Award for excellence in innovation: a prize for the best performance in developing and capitalising on innovation, in terms of investment in research and innovation, in human capital and technology. In addition to these three categories a special award, in memory of Andrea Pininfarina and chosen by a specially selected independent jury, goes to the company that best meets the criteria for excellence across all three categories.
